Debbie Lea, President
Graduate of San Antonio College of Nursing 1980. Her experience
includes working in Labor & Delivery, Family Practice Clinics, 15 years
of school nursing, and she is currently Health Services Facilitator for
East Central ISD, as well as the nurse at Pecan Valley Elementary. She
has been a member of TSNO (TASN) for 15 years and has served as Region 20
Governmental Affairs Chairperson. Her interests include travel, reading,

Cynthia Puga, President Elect
BSN – University of Mary Hardin Baylor, Belton, Texas MSN – University of Texas Houston Health Science Center. Three years School Nursing experience Elementary, and Middle Schools. She is currently Nurse Coordinator, Health Services, San Antonio Independent School District, San Antonio, Texas.
Virginia Dameron, Treasurer
BS Communications 1977- UT Austin, LVN - Hill College 1996, RN - Regents College, 1998. Virginia worked in hospitals and home health prior to specializing in elementary school health 8 years ago. She is currently at Cambridge Elementary in the Alamo Heights ISD. This is her second term as treasurer for Region 20 because she enjoys making a contribution to a group of unsung heroes making a difference in children’s lives.
Jaelyn J. Shadrock, Secretary
BSN - UTHSCSA School of Nursing 1995. Jaelyn has been the nurse at Sinclair Elementary in the East Central ISD for 8 years. She has past experience in ICU, Pain Management, Case Management, and Research. She enjoys quilting, movies, camping, reading, and traveling.
Maria Perez, Nominations Coordinator
Burlington County College AS 1979, UTHSCSA School of Nursing BSN 1991, Webster University MA Health Services Management 1997. Maria’s 25 years of nursing experience includes orthopedic, medical surgical, transplants and seizure disorders. She has been in school nursing for 15 years and currently is Assistant Director of Health Services for North East ISD. She is interested in karate, aerobics, dancing, and travel.
Elaine Olivera, Past President
BA English Texas State University 1973, BSN UTHSCSA School of Nursing 1981. National Certified School Nurse. Hospital experience includes mother/baby, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, oncology, neurology, medicine and general surgery. She has been in school nursing for 8 years and is the nurse at Castle Hills Elementary in the North East ISD. Her interests include travel, knitting, reading and politics.
